On Wednesday (December 7) the polls officially opened for voting in MTV’s 2011 Hottest Breakthrough MCs competition. By Thursday, over 30, 000 votes had been cast, with Machine Gun Kelly and Mac Miller holding down the top two spots, while Young Money rapper Lil Twist and Compton lyricist Kendrick Lamar pulled in at the number three and four spots respectively. On Wednesday morning (December 7) New Orleans rapper B.G. (born Christopher Dorsey) plead guilty to felony weapons possession charges stemming from a 2009 arrest. The former Hot Boys member was arrested after he and his friends were pulled over for a traffic violation, and police found guns in the car. Late last month, M.I.A. confirmed that she was working on a new track with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, and it seems like the collaboration yielded a little extra action for Minaj, who celebrates her 29th birthday on Thursday (December 8). Early this morning the Young Money rapper announced via Twitter that she had shared her first kiss with the Material Girl.
