2011 Hottest Breakthrough MCs, Day 2: Machine Gun Kelly, Mac Miller Lead

On Wednesday (December 7) the polls officially opened for voting in MTV’s 2011 Hottest Breakthrough MCs competition. By Thursday, over 30, 000 votes had been cast, with Machine Gun Kelly and Mac Miller holding down the top two spots, while Young Money rapper Lil Twist and Compton lyricist Kendrick Lamar pulled in at the number three and four spots respectively. Jay-Z Promises "N---as In Paris' Performance At Carnegie Hall

Selling out arenas across the U.S. for his Watch the Throne tour was a good look for 2011, but Jay-Z still has plenty of tricks up his sleeve for the upcoming year. On February 6 and 7, Hov will play the famed Carnegie Hall — and it's all for a great cause. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg Producing Tha Dogg Pound's New Album

During its heyday, Death Row Records was a force onto itself, and the West Coast record company reshaped the entire fabric of the industry in the early '90s with classic albums such as Dr. Dre's The Chronic, Snoop Dogg's Doggystyle and Tha Dogg Pound's Dogg Food featuring Daz Dillinger and Kurupt. Dre executive produced Tha Dogg Pound’s inaugural release in 1995 but 16 years later, the good doctor will share those duties with Snoop Dogg, on the group’s upcoming album Alumni. Read More...

50 Cent Introducing Female Rapper Paris On 'Big 10' Mixtape

50 Cent’s Big 10 mixtape is set to drop on Friday (December 9) at 12 p.m. and the G-Unit CEO will use the new project to introduce his label’s new female rapper Precious Paris. B.G. Pleads Guilty To Felony Gun Possession

On Wednesday morning (December 7) New Orleans rapper B.G. (born Christopher Dorsey) plead guilty to felony weapons possession charges stemming from a 2009 arrest. The former Hot Boys member was arrested after he and his friends were pulled over for a traffic violation, and police found guns in the car. Late last month, M.I.A. confirmed that she was working on a new track with Madonna and Nicki Minaj, and it seems like the collaboration yielded a little extra action for Minaj, who celebrates her 29th birthday on Thursday (December 8).
