Young Buck has been stuck in a dead end deal with G-Unit Records for some time now, making it difficult for the Nashville-born rapper to release another studio album—his last was 2007’s Buck the World— but this week he finally had some good news to share. According to Young Buck, one of his upcoming projects includes a mixtape, which will be released via Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group.
Buck announced the news after backtracking a bit to detail his most recent projects. “The Rehab mixtape was basically a mixtape that I put out there and it didn’t end up getting distributed,” he said. “As far as my music goes, I’ve put out Back on my Buck Shit Volume 1. And Volume 2, which was produced by Drumma Boy—salute to Drumma Boy. I’m working on a mixtape right now on behalf of Maybach Music. Salute to them.”
Despite his well-publicized difficulties in recent months, Buck says that his fans have continued to hold him down, making it easy to keep pushing forward with his music.
“I’m blessed to be in a situation where people enjoy what I’m giving them,” he said. “They enjoy my words because at the end of the day, like I say, there’s not a lot of rappers that really give it to you from a real perspective. The game is kind of missing that, it’s watered down. We’ve got all kinds of other music out there and it’s cool but don’t ever try to wipe the real out.”
