Move over Lady Gaga, MAC cosmetics has a new bubble gum diva to be the spokesperson for their 2012 Viva Glam campaign. Nicki Minaj has been tapped to star in the company’s latest promotion along with singer Ricky Martin. MAC has unveiled the first photo from the campaign, which features the Harajuku Barbie on a motorcycle next to Martin wielding a giant MAC lipstick.
The new campaign, shot by David LaChapelle, will officially launch in February, and according to the cosmetic brand, “Every cent of the selling price of MAC VIVA GLAM lipstick and lip gloss is donated to the MAC AIDS fund.”
Nicki seems to be an obvious choice for spokesperson, considering her success with MAC on the limited release of her ‘Pink Friday’ lipstick last year. Who better to promote a makeup campaign than the colorful queen of rap herself? Although Ricky Martin may seem a little random here, together they look whimsical and funky in the promo photo. “Barbz, check out my #MACVivaGlam photo w/@ricky_martin on Facebook! Lipstick’s out in Feb – buy 1 save a life!” she wrote on Twitter, Thursday (November 17)
Lady Gaga managed to rake in over $32 million for the MAC AIDS Fund along with Cyndi Lauper in 2010, so we’ll see how much Nicki and the “Livin La Vida Loca” star can rake in for 2012.
