2011 has been a breakout year for Young Money diva Nicki Minaj. Her 2010 debut album Pink Friday continues to be a commercial success, spawning seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 charts at the same time – a first for any artist. She also became the first female rapper to top the Hot Rap Songs charts since 2002. Not only has she wowed the male-dominated rap world by becoming one hip-hop music’s biggest stars in some time, the Queens native is also making a bit of history in the magazine world as well.
The November 2011 issue of popular Women’s magazine Cosmopolitan finds the sultry and fashionable beauty on the cover, decked out in a tight leather corset styled dress. Nicki’s left arm is adorned with a black feathered bracelet that travels up her forearm. The sexy starlet kept things simple with her choice of hair, wearing a black bob wig that compliments the rest of her look. Nicki’s makeup was also simple as her look, opting for a soft pink lipstick to even things out.
The feature story featured the tagline, “How she beat the odds, and learned to rule her world” – fitting for such an accomplished young artist who certainly has proven without doubt that she deserves to be mentioned amongst not only the rap world’s elite but also in the world of Pop music as well.
After heavy touring with YM boss Lil Wayne and the “I Am Still Music” tour and the Femme Fatale run with Pop entertainer Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj will undoubtedly get a second chance to prove to her legion of fans that she is deserving of her towering amount of accolades.
