After yesterday’s fireworks, Fabolous and Ray J’s beef has seemingly simmered down. Things were looking pretty dark when the “One Wish” singer called into Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Show” morning program to rant about a supposed-scuffle that he and Fab got into over the weekend in Las Vegas. “Ni–as sayin Ray J got beat up? I’ll sock that ni–a in his face again my ni–a” Ray J screamed over the airwaves. “All i’m saying if you got Fab’s number tell that ni–a to send a picture of his face right now.”
When Fab called into DJ Clue’s NY radio show on Monday night, he told a slightly different tale. “It was no fight, it was no swing” said Fab. “This whole story that he made up, that Tupac rant about him swinging on somebody and all of that s–t is all lies. Its all, high on coke, on that Whitney. That’s all on that Whitney last night. Ain’t no swings take place.”
Well Ray J has since apologized to his fans over Twitter and things have no seemed to calm down. Still this incident just adds to the long and sometimes strange list of Rap/R&B beefs through the years. RapFix looks back.
Jay-Z Vs. R. Kelly
What was supposed to be one of music’s biggest events became—well, one of music biggest beefs. After Jay-Z and R. Kelly to decided to pick up the pieces on their tarnished Best of Both Worlds roll-out with an new album Unfinished Business in 2004. That all went to hell when R. Kelly claimed that two men flashed guns on him and then Hov’s associate Ty Ty sprayed him with mace.
Jim Jones Vs. Ne-Yo
Jim Jones has been known to get in a dust-up or two, but things got particularly strange when the Dipset Capo went head-to-head with members of singer Ne-Yo’s entourage in December 2008 at the Louis Vuitton store on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
Tyler, the Creator and Odd Future Vs. Chris Brown
Neither Tyler, the Creator nor Chris Brown are known for their diplomacy and in June the two squared off in a Twitter tit-for-tat. Eventually, the entire Wolf Gang ended up ganging up on Breezy before cooler heads prevailed and all the digital beef was squashed.
Lil Kim Vs. Faith Evans
Lil Kim and Faith Evans have been going at it for years. Faith, of course was married to The Notorious B.I.G. and Kim, for a period in time, his lover. For most of their careers to two females have been bickering back and forth. Most recently The Queen Bee caught feelings over the way she was portrayed in the 2009 Biggie biopic “Notorious.” She took issue with not only B.I.G.’s mother, but also blamed Faith for what she believed to be a negative portrayal of her in the film. “I got four kids, and I definitely don’t have time for this type of sh–. It’s just sad. I don’t know Kim’s story like that,” Evans told MTV News at an advanced screening for the film.
LL Cool J Vs. Jamie Foxx
LL has gone toe-to-toe with Canibus, Kool Moe D and Ice-T on the mic, but in 1999 things got physical between the battle tested Queens legend and actor/singer Jamie Foxx on the set of “Any Given Sunday.” While filming a scene for the Oliver Stone-directed flick, a scripted fight between the two turned real and police had to be called in to break it up. Foxx even joked about the scrap in his stand-up routine, though the pair has since patched things up.
