Last night Kanye West put on a show to remember at the opening night of the Austin City Limits festival as he waved goodbye to his highly popular My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy tour making way for The Throne trek with partner in rhyme Jay-Z. The headlining act on the festival didn't disappoint, filling his hour plus set with massive lighting, ballerina dancers and an all white everything band. Kanye, decked out in a blood red matching jacket and fitted jeans kept the momentum of his set with a high energy performance.
“This is the last night of this show, this is the last night ... there will be new times, but we gotta remember these times before we runaway,” Kanye shouted during his performance of “Runaway” at the conclusion of the show. 'Ye also took out the time to thank his crew, dancers, choreographer, band and managers for helping him on the tour. Surprisingly, the dramatic rapper gave a special "R.I.P to the Black Eyed Peas" shout out.
West has been touring with his Dark Twisted theme for the past year and is now turning his attention towards his trek with Jay-Z. The Throne tour kicks off October 28th at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta. When asked what's next on his agenda Jay-Z responded "Watch The Throne tour" to a sportscaster while attending the JETS vs Dallas Cowboys game this past Sunday night during a special to commemorate the ten year anniversary of 9/11.
Jay-Z and Kanye West will reportedly begin rehearsals for their tour in Birmingham, Alabama. According to the city's mayor, the talks began when he went to Jay-Z for a potential business investment to attempt to boost sales in the city.
"What we're looking forward to is a continuation of the discussion with Jay-Z and his people on how to help Birmingham create an entertainment district here in the city, and support for it" Mayor William Bell told the Birmingham News.
