Happy “RapFix Live” Day! Celebrating its one year anniversary today with a bevy of rap’s shining stars, the “cornerstone of Hip Hop” aired live today (September 14) at 4 p.m. ET as our host Sway held down the hosting duties with flair much as he has over the past 365 days. Today’s special edition of the best live Hip Hop show in the land featured Busta Rhymes protégé Reek Da Villain, G-Unit soldier Lloyd Banks, West Coast vets Tha Outlawz, Diplomat representative Jim Jones, Consequence and Maino.

In what amounted to a fight down to the wire, Queens and Brooklyn can claim victories tonight after rappers Consequence and Lil’ Kim and their respective fans helped pushed the veteran rappers ahead of some rather stiff competition. In two separate polls that you – the loyal RapFix fans – voted on, Cons to the Quence and the Queen Bee showed that the voice of the people still matter.

In the Best Freestyle poll, Nicki Minaj was far ahead of her competition, appearing to coast to a landslide victory. In a last minute push from Consequence’s fans, the Queens vet edged out his friendly hometown rival to take the slot. Congratulations to new dad Consequence and his infant son, who also made his debut on RapFix today. Although Lloyd Banks boldly declared he deserved the title, Cons did offer an olive branch offer of collaboration to his fellow Queens MC.

Lil’ Kim’s appearance back in March was one of the hottest topics in Hip Hop for weeks after Kim spilled the beans on her rift with reigning female rap champion Nicki Minaj and also discussing intimate details of her time with Notorious B.I.G. along with her career revival. Kim bested Eminem and Royce Da 5’9’s “RapFix Live” moment although both sides served and volleyed for much of the voting which began last week. Kim’s legion of fans which span the globe got behind their Queen and helped her obtain the coveted victory.

Let’s hear it for Consequence and Lil’ Kim for making RapFix history!
