Eminem Collects $3 Million Dollars As V Festival Headliner

Eminem may have dropped Recovery last year, but one thing that isn’t ailing is the Detroit superstar’s rap career or earning potential. After scoring big with two RIAA Diamond-certified albums – The Marshall Mathers LP and The Eminem Show – and continued high sales for his seventh studio album, the accolades are still piling up high for the 38-year-old Motor City rhyme slinger. Along with the props, however, came a few more greenbacks for the star as evidenced this weekend at an overseas music festival.

British newspaper The Sun reported that Slim Shady took home a whopping 2 Million Pounds – roughly $3.3 Million American – over the weekend. for two nights as the headlining act at the annual V Festival which is now in its 16th year. The paper reported that Em received 1 Million pounds per show, an impressive haul for the longtime veteran. Performing a 90-minute set on both nights, Eminem was joined by Barbadian pop songstress Rihanna who too received a hefty paycheck to rock the event on her own set at the tune of 500,000 pounds per night.

The Sun further revealed that this year’s V Festival was the most expensive one yet for Virgin with other notable rap acts such as D-12 and Slaughterhouse representing heavily for Shady Records. Wiz Khalifa and Grime rap vet Dizzee Rascal also rocked the music festival at various intervals throughout.

Shady may be slim, but his pockets certainly aren’t.
