Growing up before America’s eyes, former television child star and pop singer Miley Cyrus – now 18 – has been shedding her old image a layer at a time by way of a series of incidents that blazed through the press. No instance was more random than when the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus tweeted about her love of southern rap mainstay Gucci Mane.
“Don't mind me just showin off muahhh grill with @gucci1017at the urrrport!” tweeted Miley back in April in regards to Gucci Mane’s Source cover. After a few tweets dedicated to Gucci, Cyrus also mentioned a hopeful collaboration between her rocker brother Trace and Mr. Zone 6. “You know what would be my summer jam??? @tracecyrus and @gucci1017 on a track together! HAYYY!” Miley added.
On Tuesday (August 9), Gucci Mane and protégé Waka Flocka Flame released their joint album Ferrari Boyz and got a big cosign from Miley Cyrus via her Twitter account the next day. “Whoop whoo! GUCCI MANE'S NEW ALBUM IN STORES TODAY! #FerrariBoyz Get ittttt” tweeted Miley with the tweet going out to the 2 million-plus followers on her timeline. An appreciative Gucci retweeted the starlet and replied with a simple “THANK YOU MiLEY!” on the back end of the tweet.
While Miley Cyrus and her love of Gucci Mane may be a head scratcher to some, perhaps the two will join up in the future to make some beautiful music together. Stranger things have happened.
