Veteran rapper and South Bronx tough guy Fat Joe may have the requisite scowl and gruff image down pat but underneath the Terror Squad captain’s steely exterior, the man infamously known as Joey Crack is smarting a bit after news last week of his friends Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony ending their seven-year marriage. Joe, in an interview with Fox News Latino, spoke on the split and still vows an allegiance to them both.
Don Cartagena told the network that this was, “one of the saddest days of my life was the three of four days ago. That’s my favorite couple.” Fat Joe continued with, "They are powerful Latinos, a powerful couple. I love them both." The famous couple’s seemingly sudden split came just as plans for the rapper to work alongside Jennifer Lopez are still underway. "We are supposed to do a big concert coming up with J.Lo."
Referring to both Lopez and Anthony as "family," the Fox piece revealed that Joe is set to star in a new cooking show alongside fellow rap artist and entertainer Queen Latifah focusing on healthy dishes – fitting as the formerly husky MC has shed nearly 100 pounds through diet changes and exercise. Latifah and Joe will have Marc Anthony as a guest on the show and he prepares the singer’s favorite dish. "We are doing rice and chicken for Marc Anthony!” shared an excited Joe to Fox Latino. The show will follow a talk show format as well, with cooking being the centerpiece according to earlier reports.
Would it too much to hope the name of the show is Cook Coke Crack?
