Jimmy Fallon, Justin Timberlake Tickle Funny Bones With ‘History Of Rap 2’

Late night host Jimmy Fallon and singer-turned-top billing actor Justin Timberlake already thrilled fans of NBC’s “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” with their first rendition of the “History Of Rap” backed by the Philadelphia Hip Hop house band The Roots back in September, with the video going viral on the Internet. The pair joined forces again last night with a new version of the famous rap songs mash-up “History Of Rap 2” – and according to many happy fans around the Web, it appears the fellas have another smash clip on their hands.

Opening with a brief cover of Kurtis Blow’s infamous “The Breaks” track, the pair ripped through classics from everyone to Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock, Vanilla Ice, N.W.A., Public Enemy, Black Sheep, Salt-N-Pepa, and even 50 Cent before ending with a crowd-rocking version of Biz Markie’s “Just A Friend” with the studio audience joining in. On Twitter, the video of Fallon and Timberlake running through a bevy of Hip Hops has been posted numerous times since the wee hours of the morning with nearly nothing but positive comments.

“[Words] can not express how happy this makes me,” tweeted fan @skylarentertain. Excited user @sssqueaks added excitedly, “If you want to find me, I’ll be here watching Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake’s “History of Rap, 2″ over and over again.”

The glowing reviews from fans continued to pour in over the morning.

“Ten years ago, I couldn’t stand Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon. Now, I can’t resist,” said a converted @robgwilson. A supportive @BelleandBeasts shared in the excitement by tweeting, “I love Jimmy Fallon. He cracks me up and the History of Rap with him and Justin Timberlake was so awesome!”

There were just a handful of people who were slightly critical; the knocks on the clip pale greatly in comparison to the praise. “I think I liked Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon’s History of Rap: Part 1 better,” posted unmoved fan @ShYGiRL364.

However, the overwhelming consensus was that the “History Of Rap 2” is destined to be another classic highlight for the late night program.
