Justin Timberlake Recalls Jay-Z Snub In Interview

Jay-Z is one busy man. In fact, the self proclaimed god MC was moving around so heavy that he turned down an opportunity to work OG pop sensation Justin Timberlake.

In a new interview with magazine Vanity Fair Timberlake recalls a previous time when he attempted to get Hova to rock with him on his album. Unfortunately, Jay passed on the opp and according to JT the moment may never present itself again.

“Jay-Z has put out 11 albums, and I was talking about doing collaboration with him, and he said, ‘I can’t do it right now, but I’ll get you on the next album’ the singer told Vanity Fair. “I was like, ‘No, man, I don’t work like that. This sounded good to me for you and me to do together, and if it doesn’t work, then I totally get it, but I won’t be putting an album out next year; these aren’t a dime a dozen to me.’”

Apparently the album at hand that Timberlake attempted to get Mr. Carter on was the FutureSex/LoveSounds disc. JT has long been affiliated with members of the Hip-Hop community from The Clipse to Timbaland to Drake. Previously Drizzy spoke at lengths about his anticipation to work with Justin on his sophmore album Take Care.

“There’s just people that you meet along the way that are great individuals,” Drake told MTV News late last year. “Just really open for conversations and jokes, and Justin is one of those guys. We built a rapport because I wasn’t walking in trying to be an overly cool rapper, and he wasn’t like, ‘I’m JT the heartthrob.’ It was two guys, and we were talking. We started kicking jokes, and that was it. Every time I see him, it’s a bunch of laughs.”
