Rick Ross Covers Vibe And Complex; Vote For The Best Cover

Rick Ross is having one hell of a week. On Monday (May 23) the Boss dropped his Maybach Music Group compilation Self-Made, the same day both Vibe and Complex magazines revealed their respective June/July covers; and what do you know, Rozay is double-booked. You can also catch the Boss and his new signees Wale, Meek Mill and Pill on “RapFix Live” this Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. Not bad!

He’s a photographer’s dream indeed. On the Complex cover, Ross poses as a shark with his mouth wide-open, while comedian Andy Samberg appears as his hapless water-skiing victim. The men’s magazine cover draws inspiration from the 1978 “Jaws 2” movie poster. On the other hand, Vibe’s cover features the Boss shirtless in all of his tattooed glory for what the magazine dubs their “Sexy Issue.”

Well, RapFix wants to know which cover do you like best?

“We got to set and we showed him the ‘Jaws 2’ poster and there’s a little moment when you’re like, ‘Oh s–t this might not go over so well’ and he just took a big deep laugh and said, ‘Y’all crazy,’” Complex Editor-In-Chief Noah Callahan-Bever said to MTV News about his inspiration for the shoot.

Vibe Chief Ed, Jermaine Hall had different motivations. “Putting Ross on ‘The Sexy Issue’ is a pretty big statement,” he said. “I was just happy that he was down to do it. Obviously he is comfortable with taking his shirt off. It’s not the first time that he’s done it. But the fact that it was ‘The Sexy’ cover it brings a lot more meaning to it and a lot more attention to it.”
