The “Baddest B-tch” has returned.

After a one-year hiatus, rapper Trina is back with her mixtape EP Diamonds Are Forever, dropping Monday (March 28th). The project is 14 tracks (plus an intro/outro and a remix to “Ghetto”), and MTV’s RapFix has the exclusive.

Trina has evolved since her early days of jumping on Trick Daddy’s “Naan,” delivering sexually charged lyrics, but with enough street cred to move the Miami female rapper past “one trick pony” status.

On Diamonds Are Forever, Trina maintains that same level of brazenness she’s known for. However, she continues to move in a mainstream direction – something she’s been doing since 2008′s Still da Baddest, where her single “Single Again” became her crossover hit. Diamonds has its own built-in hits like “Ghetto” with fellow Floridian T-Pain. The remix closes the EP and features the likes of Maino, Brisco and reggae artist Assassin. While the project doesn’t lean too heavily on cameos, it does include fellow Miami MC Rick Ross on the bass-heavy “Waist So Skinny,” and Mya resurfaces to soften up the heartache on “Can I.” Trina knows how to put bodies in the club and continues that successful movement with “Hit It Right” and the feel-good “Put Them Bottles Up.” She also has her own Bosslady manifesto on the cut “Blackbird,” very reminiscent of Rick Ross’ introduction “Hustlin.’” While sex topics run high, Da Baddest still injects inspirational words about wanting the most out of life and aiming to get it.

“The concept of the album is just a new direction of music,” Trina told Mixtape Daily from the Sunshine State. “It’s really fun and energetic, a different drive. I tried a bunch of different music I worked with a bunch of different artists, different producers, different sounds. I just wanted to do something that was fun and energetic. It’s the summer, it’s a mini-CD to my new album. And I just wanted to have fun.”

As quickly as Diamonds Are Forever will be hitting the streets, Trina is hard at work on her sixth studio album. While the project is currently untitled, fans can expect the album later this year.
