Mashonda Declares Peace With Swizz Beatz And Alicia Keys

R&B singer Mashonda has written another letter. However, this time it was for peaceful means.

The singer and latest reality show star of VH1’s “Love & Hip-Hop” penned a letter to “Swizz Beatz and “Alicia Keys in acceptance of the two artists’ marriage.

In 2009, the battle began when Mashonda wrote an open letter to Alicia Keys, as Keys was the assumed reason for her split with Swizz Beatz at the time. Keys was Swizz’ rumored mistress while still legally bound to Mashonda. Mashonda took it to Twitter first after reading Alicia Keys’ page with tweets about love. The letter followed.

“My concern with AK is no longer the fact that she assisted in destroying a family but that she has the audacity to make these selfish comments about love and wanting to be with someone, even after knowing their situation,” Mashonda wrote in her letter. “How is this the same Superwoman that I sang out loud with in my truck? I ask myself sometimes.” She followed with more accusations.

“If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the ending of my marriage. You know that I asked you to step back and let me handle my family issues. Issues that you helped to create.”

This time, the siren is singing a different tune.

“It took some time, but I now realize that even my former husband and his new wife, are my partners in this wonderful journey,” Mashonda states in her new letter. “As this blended family of ours continues to grow, I look forward to the months and years ahead raising our children together as one.”

Sometimes, we can all just get along.
