Arguably the most famous reality TV star in the world, the shapely Kim Kardashian has moved beyond the confines of the camera and the fashion world, bravely deciding to dip her toe in the music making pool – and fans all over the ‘Net have added some colorful comments about Kim K’s new single “Jam (Turn It Up)” which dropped yesterday (March 2).
The upbeat dance track was produced and written by singer-songwriter The Dream and fan comments on Twitter were mostly mixed if not flat out harsh. “Kim Kardashian should be on #First48 because of her song "Jam!" somebody's gotta be charged for THAT! #serialkilla,” tweeted @ComedianCarlos. Said @xoxoshellz, “kim kardashian's song is not that bad...it"s kinda dry, but i mean...yall tripping.” On media personality Ryan Seacrest’s page, fans were equally divided and scathing in their critique. “just AWFUL, but I was surprisingly expecting a lot worse - so congratulations for not being as horrific as I was expecting :/” said one poster.
However harsh the barbs from the listeners may be, it should be noted that Kim K has her heart in the right place as sales from the song will benefit a long-standing charity. The red carpet beauty tweeted yesterday morning just before releasing the song to the public. “OMG about to debut my new song JAM on @RyanSeacrest! The song will go up on itunes, proceeds going to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital,” Kim said via her Twitter account.
In a report last December from MTV News, R&B starlet Ciara dished on Kim’s budding music career and let fans in on part of what Kardashian’s aim is with her music, including details such as working with The Dream and producer Tricky Stewart. “She really loves that whole idea, and so she joked about [it] like, 'I wanna shoot a music video ... but I don't want people to take it too serious. I would just like to have fun with it,' “ Ciara shared.
Known most infamously for a sex tape with R&B journeyman and reality star vet Ray J, Kim and her ballyhooed backside have exploded onto the tabloids and gossip blogs over the years. Her family’s reality show Keeping Up With The Kardashians is one of cable network E!’s most popular shows.
