The Brick Squad boys appear to be down for the count. Gucci Mane was arrested while Waka Flocka Flame turned himself into to police on Monday (January 3) for separate charges, a probation violation and weapons possession among other things, respectively.
Gooch was apprehended on charges of violating his parole, according to the AJC, which resulted in the rapper being ordered back to the same Atlanta Fulton County jail he departed just seven months ago. The rapper's latest run-in stems from an altercation at local car shop with another man. A Superior court judge overseeing the case and the rapper's probation officer are reportedly aiming for a sentence carrying up to 17 months in jail. His next court date will be on January 24.
Hours after Gucci Mane's arrest, Brick Squad's second in command Waka Flocka went down to more serious charges.
The "Hard In Da Paint" rapper turned himself in on Monday night due to a warrant issued for his arrest following a police raid at his home in December. Flocka was booked on multiple charges, including possession of marijuana and hydrocodone, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and violation of probation along with criminal street gang activity.
For the majority of the day fans of the two rappers sent out encouraging words while many showed signs of frustration after their arrests.
"Keep yah head up Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka, you can't change the past so just focus on doing better," tweeted CelebPromoterJB following the arrests.
"Gucci Mane may go to jail for 17 months. That will be a sad sad time in my life if so ... ," tweeted elizabeth615.
"Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka they just can't stay outta trouble," said streetclientele 3rd. "This is sad as hell. You gettin to the money but you still gettin into trouble ... "
Shortly after the police raided Waka's Atlanta home in December, the rapper spoke to radio station Hot 93.7 in Hartford, Connecticut dismissing any claims of shady business dealings.
"Why would I rap and go try to street gang bang" questioned Waka. "That's hustling backwards. Why would I wanna rap all around the world and then go hit the streets and gang bang? I'm a rapper, I'm not a [gang-banger]. How can you gang-bang and be a rapper? I don't understand that, I would love to find out where their information is coming from. I can't wait."
