On Monday (December 13), we announced our Mixtape Daily Year-End Awards picks for the Top DJs of 2010. Some mix masters were thrilled like DJ Drama and Bigga Rankin, others like Don Cannon … not so much. Like Lil Wayne and 50 Cent before him, we respect everyone’s right to their opinion.

Late Tuesday (December 14), Cannon fired off a series of tweets lamenting his name’s omission from our Top DJs round up. To be fair, here are the list of the Top DJs of 2010 — in no particular order — in our humble opinion:

Bigga Rankin

DJ Drama

DJ Holiday

DJ Ill Will and DJ Rockstar

DJ Scream

DJ Teknikz

Cannon crafting Trap Or Die with Young Jeezy and Big Sean’s Finally Famous 3, along with his other tapes, put the lanky DJ, frankly, as just outside the wrap up. He almost made our Top DJs list, but after we argued long and hard about each selection, he became essentially our honorable mention for this year. Like Fabolous, Lloyd Banks and Wiz Khalifa during our Hottest MCs countdown, we see you and we salute your grind.

Another DJ, Superstar Jay, isn’t too happy with our selections either.

“Bro, 365 days of the year mixtapes are brought every day, nothing but new music — who’s the only dude hands down that’s a real DJ and puts out every week for the fans and don’t stand behind big artists doing my CDz that come every six months,” Jay said via email to our MTV News staff. “What happens the rest of the year? [I've] clearly created [my] on viral show online and average over a hundred thousand. [I'm the] only mixtape DJ, seven days a week.”

Superstar Jay and the Philadelphia-bred Cannon aren’t the only ones to speak unfavorably on our lists, from Hottest MCs to Top DJs. In 2008, 50 Cent turned each one of our faces into dogs, using photo shop of course, after we didn’t choose him as one of our Hottest MCs, and in 2009, when he was ranked #9, he still spoke out.

“I think I’m #1,” 50 Cent told Angie Martinez during an interview with New York hip-hop station Hot 97. “I’m in the top five, at least. I’m my favorite, if you ask me. These other guys are cool, but not as cool as me.”

Earlier this week, Lil Wayne spoke to DJ Drama and Karen Civil during their show on Shade 45′s morning show to share his unhappiness with the 2010 Hottest MCs in the Game list.

“I was,” Lil Wayne said, when asked if he was upset by checking in at #7 on our Hottest MCs list. “I’m not gon’ front, I was. I didn’t understand it. Like somebody tried to explain it to me like ‘It was a list about … this … I don’t know, but it was a list about … but it’s all good. Label me what you want to label me, everybody know them n—as ain’t f—in’ with me man.”
