Mack Maine isn't just the president of Young Money Records—the executive, and one of Lil Wayne's best friends, also raps. Recently, Maine released the newest installment of his mixtape series titled The Laxative and he shared with Sway on "Rapfix Live" where he’d like to go with the project.
“I might go to like a Laxative 4. I’d say four and then it’d be time to go on with the album after that,” he said.
The New Orleans native is also prepping a duet mixtape with Cash Money owner Birdman, entitled White Boyz. If the forthcoming fourth Laxative tape means anything, it's that Maine's got quite a bit of material stashed away.
“A lot of the songs on the new Laxative, the one I just dropped, some of them are from ‘07, they’re that old,” he revealed. Read More...

Wiz Khalifa hasn't exactly kept his love for Mary Jane a secret—his latest tour is called "Waken Baken." He's posted photos of himself on the Internet toking with Rick Ross. His biggest mixtape to date is called Kush & Orange Juice. He's even gone on the record with us to talk about how he likes to "bake" with his mom!
So it's no surprise that the Pittsburgh MC was arrested in North Carolina on Monday (November 8) on drug trafficking charges. Following a show at East Carolina University, authorities boarded his tour bus, found 60 grams of marijuana and charged Wiz with a felony count of trafficking marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released shortly thereafter, but not before he posted $300,000 bail and took one of the most memorable mug shots in recent hip-hop history.
Fear not, though, Taylor Gang.
If things play out the way that we think, your fearless leader won't abandon you anytime soon. Because if history is any indication, rappers who get caught with weed rarely find themselves in much trouble. To illustrate, RapFix canvassed the in-house legal library (aka "Google") to find out what happened when 10 other notable rappers were locked up for marijuana possession. Judging by these, Wiz shouldn't worry.
The Rapper: Snoop Dogg
The Arrest: The Doggfather—who sent Wiz a series of tweets yesterday about his arrest—got busted back in October 2001 when a couple of his tour buses were stopped in Cleveland. A quick search netted an astounding 200 grams of marijuana (take that, Wiz!). Snoop was arrested on possession charges. Read More...
On Wednesday (November 10), a clip of Nicki Minaj chatting with blogger Perez Hilton hit the Internet. The interview began with the most salacious question—do all female MCs dislike Barbie?
"People think that I'm the 'hated female rapper,' " Nicki said. "But a lot of the girls have shown me a lot of love and behind the scenes have said, 'Congratulations, keep up the good work.' Can't we all just get along?"
The two also discussed the MC's hair choice in her clip for "Right Thru Me." Many hip-hop fans, and New York natives, appreciated Nicki's pedestrian clothing and wavy long hair in the video, saying she looked like a genuine Queens girl. However, Perez wasn't the biggest fan of her look.
"I didn’t like the hair. I gotta keep it real," Hilton said, before adding "But I’m loving the hair you have on now!"
Donning a chic straw hat, black bob and her diamond-encrusted Pink Friday chain, Nicki said that she isn't interested in maintaining the same hairstyle all the time. Still, everyone is entitled to their opinion on her wigs, she added diplomatically. Read More...

Kanye West has apologized, again.
In an interview with Matt Lauer of the "Today" show, West expressed remorse for his comment in 2005, saying "George Bush doesn't care about black people" during a Hurricane Katrina telethon. Last week during his own Lauer interview, Bush began the controversy by calling the comment "one of the most disgusting moments in my presidency," which he echoed in his new book "Decision Points."
West told Lauer he didn't have the grounds to call Bush a racist and that he may not have used the best words to express his frustration with the government's response to New Orleans' devastation. In response, Bush forgave West for his previous remarks.
"I'm not a hater. I didn't hate Kanye West," the former president told Lauer. "But I was talking about an environment in which people were willing to say things that hurt. Nobody wants to be called a racist if in your heart you believe in equality of races."
In the hip-hop world, some support West's change of heart. Read More...

Kid Cudi's sophomore album, Man On The Moon II : The Legend Of Mr Rager, was released Tuesday (November 9) and the MC performed at his old place of employment, New York's Bape store.
“[Today is] like a holiday for us,” said Mikal George from Brooklyn, NY, along with his brother Odelle, who added, “Yeah, Cudi Day.”
The George’s weren't the only ones excited to see the Cudder perform cuts from his second LP.
“When I’m in a bad mood, I can listen to ‘Soundtrack to my Life’ and feel better,” said Daniel Texidar, a Bronx, New York-native who waited for hours to see the G.O.O.D. Music rapper hit the stage. “[Cudi] makes touching music, every aspect is touching.”
With hundreds waiting outside, Kid Cudi made a grand entrance on a mobile stage pulled by a pick-up truck, boasting a booming speaker system. Without an introduction, Cudi went straight into rapping “REVOFEV" as fans screamed their excitement. Read More...
This isn't a great week for Kanye West.
After filming an interview with the "Today" show, the MC said Wednesday (November 9) that he was taken advantage of and made his opinions very clear via Twitter.
"He played clips of Bush and asked me to look at his face while I was trying to talk to him," wrote Kanye, describing his interview experience with "Today" host Matt Lauer. "I wish Michael Jackson had twitter!"
"Maybe Mike could have explained how the media tried to set him up! It's all a f---ing set up!" he continued.
This isn't the first time that Kanye West has mentioned the late Jackson when discussing his own life as a controversial pop star.
"Jesus died for our sins, Michael [Jackson] died for the sins of our media. Jesus had the bible, [Michael] had Wikipedia,” said the Chicago MC recently during an interview with Minnesota radio station KDWB. Read More...

Kanye West has been everywhere this year but his travels aren't limited to the Internet, the news or the radio, either. No, and the Chicago MC is traveling so much that he's decided to hold concerts while he's flying. RapFix says, why not?
During the early part of 2010, 'Ye spent his time shacked up in Hawaii recording tracks for his forthcoming album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and flying friends like Q-Tip, RZA and Pete Rock out to visit. Over the course of the last month, he's been around the world showcasing his short film "Runaway" for journalists in Paris, London and New York City. And, most recently, he announced that he would be accompanying Jay-Z on trips to the south of France and London, where the two will put the finishing touches on their collaborative album, Watch the Throne.
And that got us to thinking two things; one, it must be really, really nice to be Kanye West right now. And, two, 'Ye must have a lot of frequent flier miles racked up!
Luckily, RapFix is happy to report that they are not going to waste because this blog tracked down a source* who gave us the exclusive scoop on exactly what Mr. West has been buying with all of the frequent flier reward miles he's racked up and what else he plans to purchase with them. In typical Kanye fashion, these rewards are only available to him and are top-of-the-line—read: no headphones, T-shirts or coffee mugs! Read More...

On Monday (November 8 ) Wiz Khalifa was arrested in Greenville, North Carolina on drug charges, which RapFix later heard amounted to 60 grams of Snoop's favorite delicacy. The Pittsburgh MC was released on bail Tuesday after posting $300,000 bail, garnering a quote from the green advocate himself.
Celebrities and mug shots are always interesting—check out MTV News' collection of busted celebs—and Wiz’s mug shot lead to discussion of his hair. The topic even became a trending topic on Twitter, boasting the hashtag #WizKhalifaHair.
“The Pokemon 'Tangela' was really #WizKhalifaHair ... #WizKhalifaHair goes Hard in the Paint!” said @thaOGLux, a fan from New Jersey.
“#WizKhalifaHair look like a Lamont off 'Sanford & Son,' CheaPet” said @JayFlyyHippie, before adding “#WizKhalifaHair look like a brillo pad they use at Micky D's to clean the grill." Read More...

The Internet is buzzing about Rihanna's new track “Raining Men” featuring a guest verse from Nicki Minaj. The dance-inspired pop cut comes from Ri-Ri's upcoming album Loud, which hits shelves on November 16. Though the title can be seen as misleading—no Weather Girls’ “It’s Raining Men” samples here—Nicki does reference the classic in her rhyme.
"Laying on the beach, they be feeding me my catfishes, cause it's raining men! Fat bitches," she spits as both her Roman Zolanski and Barbie characters.
Some fans expected "Fly" from Minaj's Pink Friday LP, which arrives November 22, to be the first Rihanna and Nicki collaboration to reach the web. However, like Rihanna’s album, “Raining Men” dropped first and fans are weighing in. Read More...
