On Tuesday (November 23), Kanye West took the stage at New York’s Bowery Ballroom in support of his latest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The LP hit shelves on Monday (November 22) along with Nicki Minaj‘s Pink Friday, Lloyd Banks‘ Hunger For More 2 and Jay-Z‘s The Hits Collection Vol. 1.
After running through tracks like “Gorgeous,” “Power,” “Devil in a Blue Dress” featuring guest Rick Ross and “Monster” with Ms. Minaj, West decided to give thanks.
“As you know, it’s been an extremely hard year for me,” he began. “But getting back to music, G.O.O.D. Fridays, and the album … I never thought I’d say this, I wanna thank the magazines for perfect scores across the board. I always felt like I could do anything … To do 100,000 digitally,” Ye continued, remarking on his first day tally in sales from Monday. “And slated to do 600,000 the first week. I’m not here to do mother—-ing politics. I’m here to make music. I’m not here to talk in no interviews; no one ask me any stupid f—ing questions.”
RapFix understands that it’s difficult for a star to withstand so many different conversations with numerous different people while promoting their LPs. However, we also have to say that few artists, from rock to hip-hop, know how to stir the pot like Mr. Kanye West. We fully understand that to get a sonic collection like My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and whatever may follow it, West will most likely continue to be an unpredictable interview … should he continue to do interviews.
