Lil Wayne ‘Thnx’ Fans, Swaps Social Networks

What a lovely way to wake up.

In the late hours of Monday (November 8), Lil Wayne followed up his last tweet from New Orleans with a Facebook video.

“What’s poppin’ to all my Facebook friends? I think there’s like 14 million of y’all,” Wayne says in the clip, sporting a black beanie and square shaped sunglasses with a dangling tag. “Just know that I send 14 million thank-yous to y’all—thanx-yous to y’all. I couldn’t have did it without you, I won’t do it without you. Love Young Moulah, Baby.”

What’s interesting about this recent message is the MC’s use of Facebook instead of Twitter. During his incarceration, Lil Wayne stayed in contact with fans during through his fan site WeezyThnxYou.com, however Facebook messages ran as mostly a compliment to the letters and tweets. Now, with the MC out, perhaps we’ll see more videos on the social network popular enough to get a movie in it’s namesake?

Lil Wayne departed Rikers Island last week, after serving an eight month sentence for weapons charges and quickly began an award tour of sorts, traveling to Arizona, New Orleans, Las Vegas and Miami.

MTV News caught up with Lil Wayne in Miami outside of his “Welcome Home Tunechi” party and spoke to the MC exclusively about returning to the stage with Drake in the City of Lights.

“It’s unexplainable,” Wayne told MTV News’ Sway on Sunday. “Words can’t explain. I’m good with words and I can’t explain.”

As for as transitioning from Rikers Island’s regimented schedule to the Young Money Cash Money family’s world of Maybach-chauffeured travels, the MC said he “forgot about yesterday.”

And Birdman said the MC’s “a shot-caller, whatever he wants to do it’s green light.”

Maybe folks can send their marriage proposal requests there?
