The Drake/ Lil’ Wayne collaboration “Miss Me” that has had a victorious run on the mixtapes as well as on the radio gets another medium to shine. The video for the record debuts this Thursday on MTV at 8 p.m. ET. In the clip, you’ll see why the chemistry between Wayne and Drizzy has the Young Money clique at the top of the game. The two perform together.
This dual performance scene was filmed several months ago in Miami, and none other than Wayne’s prolific videographer DJ Scoob Doo was on hand to document it all.

This video was shot before Wayne went to jail and this is also before Drake’s album came out. So this was even before Wayne knew what Drake’s first single was. Drake had his buzz off of So Far Gone. He had his video “Best I Ever Had.” I believe he had the video “Successful” with Trey Songz out, but this was before the Thank Me Later. So this is just foreseeing.
Now we fast forward to August of 2010, this video is coming out and this is Wayne in his prime talking about “I hope you guys don’t miss me when I’m gone.” And you got to think of the mind frame and the state of mind of being knowledgeable to put that together because Drake made the song and brought it to Wayne. It’s not like Wayne came up with the concept. Drake came up with the concept. So it was also Drake knowing that Wayne would not be here when they shooting this video. It’s like its perfect timing. So this is not by mistake, this is masterminds at work.
[When they were filming] it was like you could tell they knew they had one. Wayne was shooting a lot of videos at the time, a lot of videos! This one was more of the theme of him speaking from the heart even though all of them were speaking from the heart, this was more of the thing that he kind of like jumped into his mode for real because it made so much sense. He wanted people to know how he felt. Like when people see the video they're going to really understand how he feels when he’s in there. People are going to feel like he shot it yesterday because he really captured that moment. He really took advantage of the opportunity. And like I said before, he thought about way before he even went to jail.
To me it’s a masterpiece, like, for them to see this happening before it happened.
According to Scoob, he often talks to Wayne and says is in great spirits. The Young Money lensman also says it's going to be a cold winter once Wayne is released from prison and drops his highly anticipated Carter IV album, or what he refers to as C4.
